The LVMH Group contributes to educating young designers and students so that they are fully equipped to meet the economic challenges of the future, in particular within the industries associated with design and luxury goods.
Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères
Since 1999, the Group has been sponsoring the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères.
This event, held in the south of France each year, offers promising young designers the opportunity to present their first collection before a jury of professionals and in presence of many fashion journalists.
The best fashion shows are awarded a prize. Some of the young fashion designers discovered during previous Hyères festivals are now pursuing professional careers in the fashion field. They include Viktor & Rolf, Alexandre Matthieu, Oscar Suleyman, Sébastien Meunier, Xavier Delcour and others.
In 2010 the fashion and photography juries awarded prizes to two designers and two photographers:
- The "Grand Prix du Jury L’Oréal Professionnel pour la mode" was awarded to Alexandra Verschueren (Belgium)
- The "Prix du Public et de la ville de Hyères" went to Tsolmandakh Munkhuu (Mongolia)
- The "Grand Prix du Jury pour la Photographie" was presented to Matthieu Lavanchy (Switzerland) and Yann Gross (Switzerland) (tie)
The 26th Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères will take place from April 29 to May 2, 2011.
