Founded in 1977, Cape Mentelle Vineyards is one of the first estates established in Margaret River, a small but prestigious winemaking region in the remote South West corner of Western Australia, bordered by the Indian Ocean.

Situated midway between the small town of Margaret River and its eponymous cape, Cape Mentelle enjoys the combined benefits of excellent soil, a soft and humid ocean climate, plus a long dry growing season that enables grapes to mature.

These ideal conditions allow Cape Mentelle to consistently produce wines of exceptional quality, contributing to the growing reputation of the Margaret River region. Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon helped put Margaret River on the map with two consecutive wins in 1984 and 1985 of Australia’s most prestigious wine trophy, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy.

In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cape Mentelle’s portfolio includes Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz and Zinfandel.
